sbh2016 – day12 // gouverneur beach, waves, rocks

Today Thursday, last “full” day on the island. We will fly back home tomorrow after lunch… On the villa terrace, smoking my last Romeo y Julieta and drinking a rhum “passion” from La Gloriette. We were back at Gouverneur beach this morning, very nice again, difficult to leave… Again these great colors, ocean-waves-rocks-sand-sky. So vivid! Great fun in the water with the strong waves. Cool last afternoon at the villa, generating lots of view memories from Pointe Milou with the last ice creams from Le Petit Deauville. Luggage prepared so that we can have a Maya’s to go breakfast at Saint Jean before leaving tomorrow morning. Mixed feelings between “sad to leave” and “so happy to be able to be there again”… Great dinner at Le Toiny, best service on the island (to our opinion) and great food (and stable price compared to last year).

sbh2016 – day11 // by night, pélican beach, view on lorient

Night from Tuesday to Wednesday was a night-shooting-session from the villa. Wednesday, visit of Pélican beach, beautiful as usual. Very calm early in the morning, and then quite packed. I think I haven’t seen so many people on a SBH beach (parents with kids as usual, plus Nikki Beach clients?). Quite a rainy afternoon with some nice colors on Lorient bay. Dinner at On the Rocks, very good (I’ve eaten again lobster ;-), really a special atmosphere.

sbh2016 – day10 // rainbow, bird and turtle, Anse des Cayes, baie de Saint Jean

Windy and rainy Tuesday, specially in the morning. Rain showers are always good because of the stunning rainbows ;-) We went for a new little stroll from Anse des Cayes to Saint Jean, around the rock of the airport, and back to Anse des Cayes. Some nice new perspectives of known landscapes! Plus different turtles (they definitely search for water…) and nice birds. First dinner at Le Tamarin. What for a nice garden! Nice service, packed, good food.

sbh2016 – day09 // colombier stroll and beach

Monday was our Colombier day! Early morning stop at La Petite Colombe – Colombier: provision for a beach breakfast and the sand lunch. Stroll from Petite Anse, quite cloudy but sun was shining when we arrived at Colombier. What for a view! Lot of boats but very few people on the beach until noon. Snorkeling, swimming, water-polo, beach walk, typical SBH program again :-) In the evening, shopping in Gustavia and dinner at Le Repaire.

sbh2016 – day08 // shell beach, GcdS stroll

Sunday, some showers in the morning, fantastic lunch at Do Brazil, packed. Do Brazil has celebrated its 15 years anniversary on Sunday, nice! Great views, good food and nice service as usual. We feel always at home there. Then we went up to Fort Carl, the views there, specially on Shell Beach, are always stunning! In the afternoon, one of our preferred stroll from Grand Cul de Sac to Petit Cul de Sac. Kind of “summary” of Saint Barth: the view on the protected bay, the rough ocean from the dark cliff and the strong waves crashing there, then again the Carribean blue of Petit Cul de Sac. Just crazy :-) Evening at home, we wanted to avoid the St Valentin crasiness in the restaurants…

sbh2016 – day07 // toiny’s stroll, petites anses, waves, goats

Saturday was again a great day on the island! About 3h of fantastic stroll around Toiny bay and Les Petites Anses in the morning. We almost got lost at a point between Toiny and Petit Cul de Sac, funny. Some great views and beautiful waves during the stroll! The island is extremely dry, first time also that we saw some goats and their little babies. No beach and a great dinner at Pipiri in Gustavia with JP and Rosita, very very funny evening :-)

sbh2016 – day06 // lorient beach, autour du rocher

Friday was definitely the Lorient beach day, nice surprise! Heavy showers in the early morning and sunny weather afterwards, typical Carribean :-) Lorient: what for a nice change compared to last year… Beach is much softer, sand almost like in Saint Jean, less rocks and more sand also in the ocean. This mixed with nice and brilliant colors! Typical visit of Autour du Rocher, no worker, no activity, excepted some poles positionned (by surveyor?). Still great views from the heights on the bay.

And dinner at L’Isola to finish properly this fantastic day!

sbh2016 – day05 // sunset, flamand beach

Quite some showers today! But a first fantastic sunset yesterday evening, colors were again stunning… This morning good walk on Flamand’s beach, with alterning sun and showers! First Gustavia’s shopping in the afternoon and a great dinner at Bonito. From far the best restaurant since we are back. Starting to really relax ;-)

Sunset spectacle started end of the afternoon Sunset colors Last landing with sunset, great arrival! Just before the sun disappeared Flamand beach Ile Bonhomme from Flamand beach

sbh2016 – day04 // gouverneur beach, waves, lorient

Great day again, starting with a morning at Gouverneur beach. My preferred on the island (with Colombier). First some short rain showers and then, splendid and vivid light and landscape. Lot of fun again in the water with big waves and our yellow and blue ball. Afternoon at the villa, again stunning light, specially on Lorient bay. Dinner at Côté Port, with short but funny junction with Vaval on his way to Shell beach.

sbh2016 – day03 // natural pools stroll, waves, corossol beach

Still windy but not so hazy today, some rain showers (just before the Carnaval). So a good day for our first stroll to the Natural pools this morning. Light was stunning all along the path, wow. No goats seen (?). Then a stop at Corossol beach, nice, very calm as usual. No Carnaval for us this year, too early, prio is still to rest and recover. But nice to see all pictures posted! Diner at Maya’s, always great to be welcomed by Dona there ;-)
