Toiny’s stroll
As the weather was not so good yesterday morning, we went for our nice stroll at Toiny (the so-called wild coast of Saint Barth). As usual, very nice. Weather was also better and better.

Some pictures taken by night from the villa Agave. Actually, it was fully dark (22:30) :-) But with a very long exposure (30s, which explains the blurred effect on the palm trees and the clouds) and high-ISO (1600) you can have some interesting effect. You can see some lights at the bottom of the pictures and some stars in the sky.
Wow, first “wake-up” in Saint Barth at 06:15 this morning, which is not bad with our –5 hours time difference! So we again enjoy the 25°C in the morning ;-)
Then, we decide to go to Maya’s to Go for a breakfast, as we couldn’t buy everything yesterday day for a good holidays breakfast. There, super idea from my wife who proposed to take the breakfast and have it … on the beach! So that’s what we did :-) Breakfast at Saint Jean beach at 07:15.
What a great experience….
First swim in the ocean (27°C) and the swimming-pool (28°C). Outside: 30°C.
Life is soooo tough here, hihihi.
By the way, I have bought a new Canon lens for my 5D MarkII just before leaving: a new ultra-wide angle from Canon, the EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM, with a B+W 82mm MRC Slim UV Filter. The first “results” here (post-produced with DxO as Single HDR shot).
You know what? I’m just happy :-) And I would like to share that with you.
I have closed Outlook, sent my last professional emails, activated the “out-of-office” message, had the last telephone calls, and now I am on HOLIDAYS for 2.5 weeks!!
And just starting to realize that tomorrow I will be in Saint Barth with my wife and my son. I am waiting for this moment for quite a long time. Not because I have no fun or because my life is boring :-), simply because I am exhausted and I really really need to charge my batteries again! And what for a better place than Saint Barth to do that? :-)
Thanks to all, my family, my friends, my friends and colleagues from Innoveo, our partners and customers, for your good wishes and your valuable inputs that we have to benefit from this time. Totally agree! It’s the first time since years that I will not have a look at my professional emails during my holidays. Let’s see if I can manage that, I will tell you when I will be back ;-)
You can expect a *lot* of colorful pictures posted here in the coming 2.5 weeks, I’m prepared and in the “starting block” for posting!
And yes, I can tell everybody that we know how far we are super lucky to be able to go “there” again. No question or hesitation about that.
So, see you on the other side, and take care!
This was the first snowy Christmas here since a while (if I’m not wrong, since 1985). It is more common that we have some snow before Christmas and afterwards, in January/February.
It was also exceptionally cold yesterday, we had -15°C, i.e. 5°F. Which is a record since 1962 or something like that ;-)
After Saint Tropez, the Porquerolles Island and our Bed & Breakfast location, let’s have a look at the fantastic village of Bormes les Mimosas. This was really a great day, worth a visit if you are near this place.
We have positively experienced our first Bed & Breakfast at Hyères, at La Buanderie. Nice place with nice people, very comfortable, great garden with old big trees. Really cool!
