Fruit trees planted
It took us almost the whole week-end to plant our new 12 fruit trees in our meadow with my father-in-law. Completely exhausted :-) But happy!
Above the list of the fruit tree names we have planted:
- Plum tree – Prunus domestica ‘Quetsche d’Alsace
- Mirabelle – Prunus syriaca ‘Mirabelle de Nancy’
- Apple tree – Malus ‘Granny Smith’
- Apple tree – Malus ‘Golden Delicious’
- Pear tree – Pyrus communis ‘Williams Bon Chrétien’
- Pear tree – Pyrus communis ‘Conference’
- Cherry – Prunus avium ‘Burlat’
- Cherry – Prunus avium ‘Géant Hedelfinger’
- Apple tree only for pollination – Malus ‘Evereste’
- Walnut – Juglans regia ‘Franquette’
- Hazel – Corylus avellana ‘Merveille de Bollwiller’
- Chestnut – Castenea sativa ‘Marigoule’
We were lucky as it was a perfect week-end for planting: sunny and about 10°C!
It’s freezing here
This was the first snowy Christmas here since a while (if I’m not wrong, since 1985). It is more common that we have some snow before Christmas and afterwards, in January/February.
It was also exceptionally cold yesterday, we had -15°C, i.e. 5°F. Which is a record since 1962 or something like that ;-)
Yesterday evening…
Whit Monday…
…is absolulety great! Cool temperature, cool weather.
I’m just sitting in front of my laptop in the garden near the swimming-pool (picture below), listening to an "Electronica Genius Mix" generated by iTunes. Working a bit, as my wife is on duty today and is already visiting some patients ;-)
27°C planed for today :-)
