Saint Barth 2012 – Day 0

What a wonderful feeling!! In a bit more than one day (i.e. on Wednesday evening) we will be in Saint Barth :-) After 6 months, being able to go there again is just a fantastic dream for the three of us. We are just … happy!

This stay is quite a special one, as we have some particular figures to celebrate: 2x 10, 1x 15, 2x 40. Our son’s 10th Birthday, our 15th Wedding Anniversary, our 40th Birthdays (my wife and myself), and finally…. the 10th time we are on the Island ;-)

The 10th time we are going back to Saint Barth, wow. We would have laughed at you some years ago if you would have told us: “you will return 10 times on the same 25km2 island”!

But perhaps by being a bit more precise, saying that there are so many great restaurants, a so nice weather during this winter time. Explaining that you can find 14 completely different beaches, so many crazy and colorful views and villas. Stressing the fact that you will meet nice and lovely people, that you can shop, drink superb rums, smoke crazy cigars at night on the villa terrace with millions of stars in the sky, read a lot of books. And finally, just having some time for you and for your beloveds…. Wow, it sounds immediately different, no? ;-)

As usual, I’m also very excited to have time to photograph this nice place and to share some of our good “human moments” with you.

Saint Barth Summer 2011 – Day 13

Wow, writing this post from the terrace, protected from the heavy rain showers, eating a banana ice cream from "Le Petit Deauville". So, no beach today, as we went for shopping this morning (very breezy), and had a good lunch at Le Repaire.

Open air cinema

So, back to one event on Sunday evening: we were for the first time at the Open air cinema (AJOE in Lorient), which was a great experience (movie was X-Men the Origins, in French ;-). First you have to take a chair and to choose the place where you want to put your chair, very funny (see below). The sky was enough clear – almost full moon – to see a lot of stars. I was quite disturb by this nice spectacle in the sky beside the movie itself!!

I have also done some pictures by night from the villa in the last days. As a reminder, I took these pictures at 11pm, i.e. it was fully dark ;-)

Wow, that was a super sunny warm day :-) Definitely warmer now than in February, outch! And definitely much more mosquitos as ever!

Seems that we are really lucky with the weather as June/July was quite terrible on the island for tourists, not for locals and their water citterns, as for the nature! Everything is so green, crazy.

We were today at Lorient beach, long walk on the beach, almost nobody there. Good day ;-)

Today, rain showers followed by very sunny and hot periods, a kind of real tropical weather wow ;-) Direct Consequence of the weather: a visit to Shell Beach!

We had a well organized event on the beach: the 2nd day of a Victoria Secret’s shooting on the beach with Erin Heatherton, oulàlà :-) Quite funny as we could also follow the typical "paparazzi" trying to get some interesting pictures from far away with his huggge zoom lens…

On the other side, very cool colors with the cloudy/rainy sky and the beautiful transparent ocean there!

Another hot & sunny day! "Family" beach today, i.e. the whole morning at Saint Jean Pelican. Very quiet actually, with less families with kids as in February/March. Tomorrow (Wednesday) should be a rainy day… Good for shopping, let’s see!

Wonderful day, sunny, hot, the right day for Colombier ;-) It was just great, specially early in the morning (we were on the beach at about 08:20).

The walk was … different, as everything is super green!

The ocean was very calm with almost no swell, i.e. the underwater visibility was very high, pictures later this week.
